Washington, D.C. summer scene – to cool off | August 13, 2009

Movies by the pool, and a drink?

It’s not a summer time, if there is no pool around. DC has experienced quite a heat lately, and many wished instead of riding a metro, or going from building to building via heated stone streets of Capitol Hill, they could just lay by the pool with a frozen margarita. SkinnyGirl Margarita, as Bethenny Frankel, a real housewife from The Real Housewives of New York, would suggest, cutting your calorie intake by a half!

Watch Bethenny make the SkinnyGirl Margarita:

So, as I was saying, DC folks would appreciate the fact that the city is not staying indifferent to the needs of its residents, and the Capitol Skyline Hotel at 10 I Street SW, 202.488.7500  is just about to change your sunny Sundays.

Through September, Top Chef contestant Spike Mendelsohn will follow up his Sunday Capital Skyline grill fests with 8:00 p.m. movie screenings of the modern classics like Office Space and Old School.

Grab a $5 theme cocktail, then lay back on beach chairs and floating pool-beds and watch the movies. Just make sure you AC is on in the apartment and an aloe spray is ready to calm the tan down when you come home to get ready for another work week in the city.
